So What Is a reset?

Inside the Santosha Movement Society I have a huge focus on using RESETS to improve any aches or pains, troubleshoot movement on the spot, and even as a tool for maintenance when you’re feeling good. And, they are wonderful for building on your progress to create challenge and get stronger. So what exactly is a RESET, and why does it help us build better strength? It can look a few different ways depending on what your body needs:

  • A reset can be the movement you do during a flare, like something that helps realign, calm things down, and ease pain. Did you hurt your back over the weekend? Overdo it with yard work? Time for a reset.

  • It can be the moment you pause mid-exercise, realize something feels off, and start again with better alignment and awareness.

  • And with consistency, resets can become a maintenance tool—a small sequence you return to regularly to support the progress you’re making. Think of my Signature Reset Routine: a go-to flow that works both during flares AND as part of your everyday upkeep. And many of you have your OWN reset routine that we've crafted for you inside your private sessions!

With regular resets, we naturally build better strength during our movement because our body becomes more organized, supported, and ready to handle load the way it was designed to. When your alignment, breath, and muscle recruitment are working together, every rep becomes more effective, so your progress builds faster, with far less strain.

I’d love to help create personalized RESETS just for you! Start by joining the Santosha Movement Society and then booking your first 1:1 sessions (because members get 20% off and you’ll naturally use the SMS to practice!)
