On Hypermobility & Pilates

When you have Hypermobility or EDS, you can feel so passed around the system without any clear path forward. While awareness for these conditions are growing, many providers are still unclear on how to treat patients, which can leave you feeling like you’re on a hamster wheel seeking solutions.

A student who suffers from hypermobility was referred to me recently by THREE different providers in the Portland area. She was reluctant at first – being passed from provider to provider left her feeling distrustful of the system, which is COMPLETELY understandable. And now she's fully immersed in the Santosha blended method and making strides she had hoped for.

Pilates for Hypermobility with Mandee Louie of Santosha Pilates

At this point in my career, while I love working with a ton of varying students, the most common I see are easily clients with Hypermobility or EDS. Exercise is key for building strength and supporting connective tissue, but hypermobile bodies can make it tricky to know how to move safely. I’ve worked with over 100 clients with this condition now, and am so excited to be running the Pilates for Hypermobility course three times per year - the next one coming up soon in February!

In this course, we will help you move safely, prevent injury, and manage pain. We'll give you tips on what to do when you're in a flare and how to effectively troubleshoot movement when it isn't working. Hypermobile bodies need specific cues, modifications, and individualized programs because regular classes don't address the specific needs of this population.

If you’re suffering from EDS and/or hypermobility, I highly recommend the Pilates for Hypermobility Course! Working with an expert who’s seen this condition over and over is the solution you need to make real, lasting change and feel better in your body.

Make sure you're following me on Instagram for tips on living with this condition and healthy movement in general! Follow me here. And stay tuned for the next course- it’s offered three times per year. To receive early bird pricing, make sure you’re on the waitlist at the link below! Can’t wait to see you in the course!
Yours in Health,

Mandee Louie
